One half the total cost is then divided by the total rentable square feet at the community, the result is then multiplied by the square feet of each individual unit, the result is the 50% square foot cost per unit. The sum of the "50% per occupant cost" and the "50% square foot cost per unit" is the total utility or service cost per unit. This formula does not pre-rate based on move-in date.
